Obituary for Mary Ann Kelley

Peoria- Mary Ann Kelley, age 71, of Peoria, passed away at her residence at 5:35 PM, Sunday, November 27, 2016, surrounded by beloved family.

Born March 11, 1945, a daughter of William F. and Ann Patricia Collins Boehm. She married Murl E. Kelley, June 15, 1968 in Decatur, IL, he survives. Also surviving is one daughter; Catherine (Jack) Dunne of Chicago, IL, four sons; Michael Kelley of South Bend IN, Brian (Elizabeth) Kelley of Kansas City, MO, Daniel (Kitty) Kelley of Peoria, IL and Philip (Kate) Kelley of Pewaukee, WI, and eleven grandchildren, three sisters; Cathy (Bruce) Banks of Leander, TX, Rose Hultgren of Irving, TX and Maggie (Bob) Boyd of Dallas, TX, five brothers; Bill (Ginger) Boehm of Owensboro, KY, Ed (Suzy) Boehm of Decatur, IL, Tom Boehm of Dallas, TX, John Boehm of Davenport, IA and Jim Boehm of Peoria, IL, and one brother-in-law, Tom Pelger of Peoria, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Patricia (Boehm) Pelger and one brother-in-law, Gregory B. Hultgren.

Mary Ann graduated from St. Teresa High School in Decatur, IL, attended Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO, and graduated from Millikin University in Decatur, IL with a degree in education. Following graduation, she taught elementary school in Peoria. When her husband was transferred to Puerto Rico, she taught school at Ft. Buchannan Military Base in San Juan. After Mary Ann returned to Peoria, she was a substitute teacher in several of the catholic schools. As a devout Catholic, she raised her five children with love, patience, and faith. Mary Ann was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 PM Thursday, December 1, 2016 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM, Friday, December 2, 2016 at the church with a half hour prior visitation. Father Thomas Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or the charity of donors’ choice.
