Obituary for Martin A Trettel Jr.
Martin A. Trettel, Jr., 83, of Peoria, IL, died Friday, December 2, 2022 at the home of his daughter. Born November 8,1939 in Creighton, PA, he was the son of the late Martin Anthony and Frances Shondeck Trettel.
He was a resident of New Kensington, PA his entire life. Marty graduated from East Deer High in 1957. He attended St Vincent College and Penn State University. After serving in the Army, he returned from Germany and was married to Nancy Doloughan for 48 years. She preceded him in death.
Marty retired after a career in sales from Lyon Metal Products. He was an active member of the New Kensington/Arnold Jaycees, a board member for the Allegheny Kiski Valley Junior Miss Program, and a past board member of the New Kensington Municipal Sanitary Authority. For the last ten years his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Marty will be remembered for his jovial personality, his friendly smile and his love for animals. He loved working in his yard with his faithful Labrador Retrievers, talking Steelers football, and watching The Tennis Channel.
Marty is survived by his daughter Marti Ann ( Dr. James Robert) Williams; his grandchildren, Christian, Cameron and Isabella Williams; and his sister, Lucille A. Trettel of Peoria, IL.
A private memorial mass will be held December 28, 2022 at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Father David Richardson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Illinois Cancer Center, Peoria, IL.
