Mark Stephenson, 67, of Washington, IL, transitioned on from this life on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at his home with his loving Wife.
Mark was born on December 16, 1954 in Peoria, IL, to Milford and Barbara (Johnson) Stephenson. They preceded him in death. Mark’s grandson, Austin, also preceded him in death.
Mark is survived by his wife, Mary (Caldwell) Stephenson and step-daughter Dawn (Bill) Blundell and two grandchildren, Lily and Avery Blundell. He is also survived by his sisters, Connie (Gary) Kepley and Diane (Larry) Claudin.
Mark was an IT Analyst at Caterpillar until his retirement. He was an avid and competitive golfer, enjoyed playing tennis and loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing football with his nieces and nephews at family gatherings. Mark’s love of sports led to many trophies, medals and awards. He could often be found rooting for his favorite teams, The St. Louis Cardinals and The Chicago Bears.
Family was most important to Mark. He always enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren, Lily and Avery. He was a kind and loving son, husband, father, son-in-law, friend, uncle and grandfather. He was always quick to help anyone who needed it. Mark will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorials may be made to PCAPS (Peoria County Animal Protection Services).
Cremation Rites will be accorded. No services will be held, per Mark’s wishes.
