Obituary for Mark J. Kwiat
Peoria - Mark J. Kwiat passed away on October 13, 2022 at his residence in Peoria. He was 68.
He was born the son of John and Ruth Wilk Kwiat on November 23, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois. He married Kathy A. Stone on May 26, 1989 in Chicago, IL., she survives.
Mark is survived by his four children, Marc (Darci) Kwiat of Mesa, AZ., Bridget R. Kwiat and fiancé Colin Strom of Norwood, IL., Renny S. Kwiat of Iowa City, Iowa and Declan E. Kwiat of Peoria, IL; one brother, Jack (Lori) Kwiat of Orland Hills, IL.; two sisters Marianne (Alan) Meniskis of Justice, IL. and Maureen Meshenberg of Oak Park IL. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents and brother Alan preceded him in death.
He was employed as a disaster case manager with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
God was first in his life, his family second. Music and sports were his passion along with his granddaughter Ruby Sue Kwiat. Mark loved to travel and enjoyed geography.
His mass will be held at 10:30 on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at St. Philomena Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior at 9:30. Father David Richardson will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials contribution can be given to Society of St. Vincent de Paul or St. Philomena Catholic Church.
