Obituary for Marjorie E. Redington
PEORIA – Marjorie E. Redington, 87, of Peoria passed away at 12:35 a.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Buehler Home.
Marjorie was born on Oct. 20, 1928, in White Lake, N.Y., to the late Albert and Naomi (Stewart) Dauch. She married John M. Redington Sr. on Feb. 25, 1951, in Park Forest, Ill. He preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 2007, in Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
She is survived by one son, John (Debi) Redington of Dunlap; six daughters, Terri (Doug) Many of Quincy, Ill., Diane (Roy Buchta) Redington of Pittsburgh, Pa., Jayne (Anthony) Hawe of Park City, Utah, Judith (David) Moore of Gray, Ga., Patricia Redington of Panama City, Fla., Jennifer (Stuart Thompto) Redington of San Francisco; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carol Porter of Hurleyville, N.Y.
Marjorie worked as the Communications Director at Winter Park Hospital in Orlando, Fla.
She was known for her sharp and witty sense of humor that she exhibited until her very last day. She loved to play golf and spend time with her family and friends, who traveled across the country to be with her to say good-bye.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Msgr. Stanley Deptula will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, also at St. Bernard Catholic Church, with recitation of the Rosary at 6:45 p.m. An additional visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the Mass at church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the Mass and the burial of ashes will be in St. Peter Cemetery in Liberty, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the GYN Oncology Carcinosarcoma Research Fund, P.O. Box 682776, Park City, Utah, 84068.
