Obituary for Marjorie A. Ruskusky
Marjorie A. Ruskusky, age 101, of Metamora, formerly of Peoria Heights, passed peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 8:30 AM at Snyder Village Nursing home in Metamora, IL.
Marjorie was born on January 28, 1921 in LaSalle, IL a daughter of Harry J. and Caroline (Hebel) Malone. She married John H. Ruskusky on August, 14, 1942 in Peru, IL. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2010 in Peoria.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Dr. John (Christine) Ruskusky of Peoria, one daughter, Rita (Dr. Kevin) Littlefield of Morton, and daughter-in-law Cheri Ruskusky of Peoria, sister-in-law, Norma Malone of Fairfield, CA, eight grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard, daughter-in-law, Susan Margaret Ruskusky, two sisters, Mary and Pat and 3 brothers, Henry, Frank and William.
She worked as a sales associate at Bergner’s Department store for 16 years, retiring in 1986, but her passion in life was to be a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Anyone who knew Marjorie got to see first-hand her love for life, her sense of humor and her luck of the Irish.
Marjorie was a faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, the Women’s Auxiliary and a participant on the women’s bowling league. She had an unwavering faith and was a dedicated prayer warrior. She participated in the Detweiller Golf League and was a volunteer at Proctor Hospital as a pink lady.
A private Funeral Mass will be at St. Thomas Catholic Church on Saturday, June 25, 2022 with Msgr. Jason Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas Church or Snyder Village Retirement Center.
