Marilyn spent most of her adult life in Danville IL raising her family. Although known, loved, and appreciated primarily for her skills as a wife and mother as well as her strong Christian faith, she also worked as an executive secretary, business manager, and front office manager for Danville Public School Administration, State Farm Insurance Agencies, and the local Danville radio broadcasting stations. Marilyn was actively involved and a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Danville and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She returned to Peoria from Danville at the age of 83 when she retired.
Per Marilyn’s wishes, cremation rites have been performed. A celebration of Marilyn’s life will take place at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Philomena’s Church in Peoria on Tuesday December 12 at 10:30 AM. Instead of a formal visitation the family will receive friends and relatives immediately following the service at the church. Burial will be Wednesday December 13 at 11:30 AM at Resurrection Cemetery, Danville, IL following a short service in the cemetery chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests memorial donations to the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation. Marilyn’s great-granddaughter, Taylor Peterson, is battling this debilitating disease.
