Obituary for Marilyn L. Molitor
Peoria- Marilyn L. Molitor, age 90, passed away 12:56 AM, Saturday, February 11, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
Marilyn was born August 31, 1926, in Peoria, the daughter of Allen and Irene (Watkins) Thornton. She married Robert E. Molitor July 7, 1944 in Peoria Heights. He passed December 15, 2007. Also preceding Marilyn in death was son Robert L. Molitor, her infant granddaughter, Laura Case and daughter-in-law, Nancy Molitor.
Marilyn was a homemaker who was happiest when she was entertaining family and friends. Robert and Marilyn owned and operated Molitor Electric, a well-known business, in Peoria, for many years. She was a kind neighbor and loving to all she came into contact with. She was a lifetime member of The Peoria Heights Congregational Church and a resident of Apostolic Christian Skylines since 2008. Marilyn will be dearly missed by all.
Surviving Marilyn is her daughter, Mary Beth (Jack) Case, of Peoria, son, Warren Molitor of Normal, and daughter-in-law, Anita Molitor of Manito. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Tony (Heidi) Case of Chillicothe, Annette (Pat) Minasian of Washington, Leslie (Josh) Huffington of Normal, Bradley (Amy) Molitor of Bermuda, Andrew Molitor of Bloomington, Matthew (Melinda) Molitor of Mapleton, and Mark (Stephanie) Molitor of Mapleton and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary with a one hour prior visitation. Pastor Brian Michael will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, IL.
