Obituary for Marianne Wagner

PEORIA-Marianne Wagner, 79, of Peoria, passed away at 3:11 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2009, at Proctor Hospital. She was born on October 2, 1929 in Peoria to John “Jack” and Mary Schweinbold Whalen. She married Jerome J. Wagner on May 23, 1953, in Peoria. He survives. She had six children, the late Kevin (Ruth) Wagner of Peoria, Angela (the late Richard) Brereton of Peoria, Keith (Charlene) Wagner of Princeville, Dennis (Anita) Wagner of Princeville, Brian (Carol) Wagner of Dunlap and Dana (Polly) Wagner of Peoria; sixteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Robert (Charlotte) Whalen of Peoria and one sister, Patricia (Joe) Terrini of West Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Marianne worked for many years at Chicago Title and Trust, retiring in 1989. She was a graduate of the Academy of Our Lady and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Marianne was an avid bingo player and loved to dance. She loved her family very much. A Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2009 at St. Vincent de Paul Church with Rev. Dustin Schultz officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Kickapoo. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Tributes and condolences may be submitted to
