Obituary for Margaret Mae Driscoll

PEORIA - Margaret Driscoll, 89, of Peoria, Ill., passed away at 4:39 a.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Margaret Mae was born on June 13, 1925, in Chicago to Lee H. and Elsie (LeBeau) Wagner. She married Thomas F. Driscoll on December 28, 1948, in Maywood, Ill. He passed away on her birthday in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Pauline; and her daughter-in-law, Galeen Driscoll. She is survived by ten children, Carol (Bill) Coburn, Paul (Liz) Driscoll, David Driscoll, Jane (fiance’ Korter Moran) Hardesty, Peter Driscoll, Mary (Mike) DuBois, Joseph (Jane Genzel) Driscoll, Elizabeth (Keith) Knight, Daniel (Lori) Driscoll, and Ellen Driscoll; and one brother, Bill (Holly) Wagner. Margaret graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst, Ill. She attended St. Francis College in Joliet. A very busy mother, she transitioned to a doting grandmother and great grandmother to her 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She could never spend enough time with those 48. Marge enjoyed traveling to her homes in Florida, and especially enjoyed taking her grandchildren with her on the trips. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Resurrection Mausoleum Chapel in Peoria, with Franciscan Fathers officiating. A private visitation for the family only will be before the Mass. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The PJS Stocking Fund. Margaret’s family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at ERS, the Bickford House of Peoria, and the kind and caring medical staff at OSF St. Francis in Peoria. They combined to make her last days and years comfortable and worry-free. People are invited to The Waterhouse at 316 S.W. Washington St. in Peoria from noon until 3 p.m. following services for food and fellowship. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Tributes and condolences may be submitted to
