Obituaries
Marc E. D. Hoeft, 36, of Peoria, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his residence.
Marc was born August 9, 1985 to Gary and Melanie (Walker) Hoeft in Pekin, IL.
He is survived by his father Gary Hoeft of Manito, his mother Melanie Hoeft of Peoria, his son Paxtyn of Farmington and his daughter Journi of Yates City, as well as his sister Alicia (Scott) Arnold of Peoria and brother Mason Hoeft of Manito.
Marc attended Illini Bluffs High School and Richwoods High School. He was a brilliant mind when it came to anything with a motor in it. If it didn’t work, Marc would tear it apart and put it back together until it worked properly. For the past several years, Marc has struggled with addiction. Some days were better than others. But no matter his own struggles, he was always willing to help others.
If you or anyone you know is battling addiction, remember people do care about you and there are ways to get help. Suicide is not the answer.
Visitation will be held at Wright & Salmon Mortuary on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 4pm-7pm. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Springdale Cemetery on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.
