Obituary for Lucille S. Joseph

PEORIA- Lucille S. Joseph, 89, of Peoria, beloved sister, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend was called to her Heavenly Home at 9:11 AM, Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in the emergency room at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. She was born to Sam and Selma Williams Joseph on March 17, 1922 in Peoria, where she spent most of her life. She is survived by her brother, Tom (Dianna) Joseph of Peoria; two sisters, Helen (Robert) Couri of East Peoria and Eileen (Leonard) Unes of Peoria; one sister-in-law, Anna Joseph; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in Eternal Life by her parents; three brothers, Sarkas, Raymond, and Sam, Jr; one sister, Mary; two sister-in-laws, Nina and Theresa. Lucille worked as the office manager at Sam Joseph Food Market, and later at Joseph Realty. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Sharbel Maronite Church, the Catholic Women’s League; the Eucharistic Perpetual Adoration at St. Philomena’s Chapel, the Ladies Itoo Society, and the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. Lucille’s greatest loves were her family, especially her many nieces and nephews, her Catholic faith, and her Lebanese heritage. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 4, 20ll at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Hgts. Rev. Thomas Taylor and Rev. Bechara Awada will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM, Thursday at the church. A Rosary will be recited at 7:45 PM. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass on Friday at the church. Burial will be St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Peoria. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is handling arrangements.
