Obituary for Lucille Brown

ROCHESTER, MN - Lucille “Lucy” Marks Brown, 87, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Charter House, Rochester, MN where she resided the past 12 years.
Lucille was born in Peoria, IL to Harry J. and Anna A. (Castle) Marks. She had one sister, Eileen Marks Bailey, who survives her. She attended Academy of Our Lady Catholic School, St. Bernard parish. She married her one true love, John “Jack” Brown, in 1946. He died in 1984. They raised seven children together. Lucille was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. After residing in Peoria, IL she moved to the Quad Cities/Moline, IL and then Rochester, MN. She enjoyed traveling the world, golf, gardening and ceramics. Her greatest joy was being in the company of her family. A camera was always nearby as she enjoyed taking pictures. Lucille spent her winter months in Naples, FL and had many wonderful friends and family there.
She leaves behind her children, Larry (Connie) Brown of Peoria, IL, Linda (Jim) Kolter of Sanford, FL, Jerry Brown of Pensacola, FL, John (Jean) Brown of Pensacola, FL, Janet (Rich) Andersen of Cape Coral, FL, Becky (Jeff) Britton of Rochester, MN, and Bob (Marla) Brown of Des Moines, IA.
And her beloved grandchildren, Rachel Britton, Michelle Britton, Andrew Andersen, Anna Andersen, Zachary Brown, Hannah Brown, Carson Brown, David Brown, Ryan Kolter, Jason Brown, Jeremy Brown, Chris Neal, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Those that loved Lucille knew that her special gift to all of us was her capacity for enduring love and friendship. She will be missed by all that knew her as a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandma, and Friend.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 5-6 p.m. at Wright Salmon Mortuary in Peoria, IL. Funeral Service will be Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria, IL with an additional visitation one hour before the service. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Interment will be at Resurrection Mausoleum, Peoria, IL.
Memorials may be made to St Bernard Parish, Holy Family Parish in Peoria, IL or the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
