Obituary for Lucille Anne Scott
PEORIA – Lucille Anne Scott, 91, of Peoria died at 11:18 am Sunday, May 28. 2017 at Apostolic Christian Restmor Nursing Home in Morton.
Lucille was born July 17, 1925 in Peoria to Earl J. and Dorothy L. (Murray) Ruhaak. She married Donald F. Scott on May 8, 1948 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Peoria.
She is survived by three daughters, Anne (Greg) Speck, Susan Scott, and Margaret Scott, all of Peoria. Survivors also include three grandchildren, Andrew (Rita) Speck and Timothy (Rebecca) Speck, both of Peoria, and Kathleen (James) Knepper of Cascade, IA. She has nine great-grandchildren, Kayla (Taylor) Hopple, Anthony and Lucy Speck, Jackson, Claire, Grace, and Nicholas Knepper, and Isabelle and Anna Speck, plus a great-great grandchild, Alexis Hopple. In addition, she is survived by two brothers, John (Cynthia) Ruhaak of Chicago, IL and Robert (Kathie) Ruhaak of Buffalo Grove, IL, along with one sister, Mary MacDonald of Pine Knoll Shores, VA.
Lucille’s parents and husband preceded her in death.
For many years, Lucille worked with her husband Don and brother-in-law George at Scott Insurance Agency in Peoria. She was an accomplished seamstress and cook, and she enjoyed Bradley basketball and traveling. Most of all, she loved being a grandmother.
Lucille was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Peoria. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 1 at her church, with Msgr. Brian Brownsey officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 29 at St. Mark’s with additional visitation from
10:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday, before the funeral service. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in West Peoria, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may me made to St. Mark Catholic Church (1113 W. Bradley Ave., Peoria, IL 61606) or Haiti Mission Connection (P.O. Box 1393 Peoria, IL 61654-1393).
