Obituary for Louis J. Buehler
Peoria-Louis J. Buehler, age 76, of Peoria, passed away at 9:47pm on Sunday, May 30, 2010, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center ICU. Louis was born on January 27, 1934, in Peoria, to Frederick Sr. and Anna Buehler, (both deceased), one of 6 children- Frederick Jr. (deceased), Marcella Forney, Rosemary, Bernard, and Ann Marie Clay. Louis married Carol R. Westlake on February 1, 1958 in Peoria. She survives. Louis is also survived by 6 children: Mary (Robert) Ray, IV of VA, Rose-Ann (Todd) Wilson of IN, Michael (Lisa) Tivis-Buehler of KY, Margaret (Liza) Buehler of Chicago, Joseph and Patrick of Peoria; 7 grandchildren: Amy, Kathleen, Alexander, Catherine, Davis, Riley, and Grace; and 1 great grandson: Tristan. Louis graduated from Manual High School, Golden Glove Boxer, served in the U.S. Army, worked 28 years at Hiram Walker & Sons Inc, retired from ADM. He was a faithful member of St. Philomena Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father, dad, friend, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a heart of gold. He played football, baseball, and other sports. When he no longer could play, he refereed. He was a hard worker, willing to give a helping hand. He would work extra jobs by unloading semis, paint/shingle houses, fixing cars, carpentry, woodworking, plumbing, and whatever was needed to be done to support his family. Funeral Mass will be at 10am on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at St. Philomena Catholic Church with Fr. Donald Henderson presiding. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Friday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary with a Scripture Service at 6:45pm. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to Tributes and Condolences may be submitted to
