Obituary for Lori Lynn Meyer
Lori Lynn Meyer, 62, passed away surrounded by her family at OSF Medical Center in Peoria on Friday, April 29, 2022.
She was born on June 26, 1959 to William and Carol (Gray) Colgan of Princeville, IL. Lori was a graduate of Dunlap High School and graduated Cum Laude from Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing. She spent 30 years as a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at OSF Medical Center.
Lori adored her children and grandchildren. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with them. She was a generous gift giver and spent much of her time thinking of the perfect gifts for those she loved.
She had a passion for projects around the house and especially enjoyed gardening, painting, and decorating her home. Christmastime was her absolute favorite. Each November, she decorated her house from top to bottom with Christmas trees in every room. She will be deeply missed by all that loved her.
Lori is survived by Matt Meyer, their two children Brett (Katie) Meyer, Melissa (Joe) O’Brien, four grandchildren Joe, Kaitlyn, Hailey, and Olivia, her parents, two brothers Pat Colgan and Mark (Maria) Colgan, sister Cindy (Rex) Scheeler, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Amy Colgan, brother Tim Colgan, and nephew Nathan Scheeler.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30am Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Wright and Salmon Mortuary in Peoria. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:30am prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.nationalmssociety.org) or Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
