Obituary for Linda L. Hill

BRIMFIELD – Linda L. (Halsted) Hill, 69, of Brimfield passed away at 10:17 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at UnityPoint – Methodist, with her husband and daughter by her side. Linda was born on May 7, 1945, in Peoria to James and Marie (Warren) Halsted. She married Edward L. Hill on Dec. 6, 1974. They shared 40 blessed years together. She was preceded in death by her parents , one granddaughter, and one brother-in-law. She is survived by her husband, Ed; one daughter, Debbie (Jack) Siegel; four stepsons, Mike Hill, Brian Hill, Mark (Jennifer) Hill, and Bruce Hill; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Shirley Strait and Nancy (Gerald) Snider. Linda worked for Ozark Airlines for over 18 years. When she finally decided to retire this past year, she had been working for the Salvation Army Thrift Store. She was an avid bowler for 50 years. She was a member of the USBC and was a 2014 inductee into the Peoria WBA Bowling Hall of Fame. She also enjoyed playing pool, golf, and pinochle with her friends and family. Linda was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her heart was her family and friends. She will be forever loved and missed by many. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. An additional visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Hanna City. Memorials may be made to the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund or the Kidz 1st Fund.
