Obituaries
Lillian McCadden, 100, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 3, 2023, in East Peoria, Illinois. She was surrounded by family and many who loved her. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and was an active member of St. Ailbe Parish until she moved to Lombard to live with her sister, Marie and her husband, Herbert. In 2006, she and Marie moved to Villa St. Benedict in Lisle, where they lived until moving to East Peoria in 2013. Lillian was known for finding the good in everybody and made many good friends wherever she ventured. She loved to love on those who were dear to her. She adored playing games with her family, and credited her love of crossword puzzles as what kept her mind sharp throughout her life. Lillian worked at AAA for many years until her retirement. Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Caroline (Radekowski) and John Anthony McCadden, brother John A. “Jack” (Joann), and sisters Marie (Herbert Schmidt) and Dorothy (Robert Broniszewski). She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Corrine Schmidt, who gave selflessly for many years, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless longtime friends, relatives, and loved ones. Visitation will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle, 904 E. Lake Ave, Peoria Heights, Illiniois at 9:00 am on Friday, May 19th, followed by a memorial mass at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
