Obituary for Larry F. Just

Peoria-Larry F. Just, 61, of Peoria passed away at 12:46 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at his residence. He was born Jan. 22, 1947, in Bismarck, N.D. to Leonard and Betty Kamin Just. He married Cherrie Gritton and she passed away Jan. 12, 1991 in Peoria. He later married Ruth V. Murray on April 5, 1991 in Des Moines, Iowa and she survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Crystal (Stephen) Wilson of Chillicothe; one son, John (Rhonda) Just of Peoria; one grandson, Adam Ford; and one sister, Mary (John) Woolsteen of Rome, Ill. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a label cutter at International Paper Co. from 1968 until 1995. He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1966. Larry was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, it’s Mens Club, It’s WATCH Program and Thanks and Giving Committee. Larry was also a St. Jude Knights of Columbus Third Degree member, a Springfield Dominican Associate, he volunteered for Special Olympics and was Volunteer of the Year for P.A.R.C. He was also a former Human Rights Authority Board member. Cremation rites have been accorded and at Larry’s request there will be no services at this time. A Celebration of his life will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to PARC’s Older Adult Program. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Larry’s family wishes to thank the many people who have lifted him up in prayer for years. They are also grateful for the support and compassion shown to him and his family by the medical staff at O.S.F. St. Francis, HeartCare Midwest and Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill.
