Obituary for Kevin Mark Wood
Peoria – Kevin Mark Wood, 67, of Peoria Heights, passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at River Crossing nursing home in Peoria.
Kevin was born on February 26, 1955, in Jacksonville, IL, to Ray and Janice Wood. His mother survives.
Also surviving are his brother, Mike (Patti) Wood of Peoria; sister, Deborah Labelle of Baltimore, Md.; sister-in-law Edie Wood of Peoria; nieces Amanda (Chris) Bland of Champaign, Il.; Vanessa (Rich) Krumholz of Peoria; Erin (Dillon) Kelly of Washington, Il.; Chandra Labelle of Baltimore; Cheryl (Aaron) Labelle-Reed of Baltimore; one nephew, Ryan Wood of Peoria; five grandnieces and five grandnephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Ray Wood; his brother, Steve “Woody” Wood; and his niece-in-law, Brianna Wood.
Kevin worked at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for 27 years and prior to that was a beautician. He was a huge fan of Lucille Ball and Cher. He loved spending time with his family, especially during the holidays. Kevin was also known for his fried chicken and his incredible knack for winning radio contests.
He will be remembered for his kind spirit and boisterous laugh.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private Memorial Mass was held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas Church, St. Vincent De Paul Parish, or the American Diabetes Association.
