Obituary for Kevin "Dubby" R. Janosov

PEORIA – Kevin R. “Dubby” Janosov, 51, of Peoria passed away unexpectedly at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at UnityPoint Health- Proctor Emergency Room. Kevin was born on April 6, 1963, in Peoria to Robert D. and Gail (Fortier) Janosov. He is survived by his father of Peoria; two sisters, Michelle (Greg) Harms of Bartonville and Victoria (Wayne) Kessler of Edelstein; one brother, Eric (LeeAnn) Janosov of Washington, Ill.; two nephews, Matt and Lee; and two nieces, Amber and Maci. He was preceded in death by his mother in 2013. Kevin had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He was a kind, generous, fun loving guy who always put others first. He was a graduate of Richwoods High School. He worked for SVI Systems for 19 years, where he made many friends. Kevin was active in the Peoria Jaycees and was awarded Jaycee of the Year in 1998. He was a board member for the Peoria Riverman Captains’ Booster Club; and he was involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Independent Sports Club. He supported all the local teams and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and New England Patriots fan. The neighborhood friends he grew up with were a close bunch who never outgrew each other. A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held from 1 – 5 pm. Sunday, Apr. 19, 2015, at the Limelight Eventplex, 8102 N. University St., Peoria. To honor Dubby’s love of all sports, feel free to wear your favorite sports attire. Cremation rites have been accorded and entombment of ashes will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, it is the family’s wish that memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice because Dubby supported so many charities.
