Kelly Lynn Madigan was born May 18, 1960, in Pekin to Wanda Jean Emmons, she was her first born daughter. She was beautiful from the start. Her mother said her eyes were a dark blue violet like blue velvet and reminded her of Elizabeth Taylor’s. She was remembered as always having a smile on her face that shined in her eyes as well. That spark was a reflection of her joyful spirit. When she was little her grandpa Cline called her wildcat Kelly. Her favorite memories from childhood were family get-togethers and spending time with her cousins. She grew more and more beautiful with time and acquired a sense of flair but more importantly she was beautiful on the inside. In remembrance of Kelly there have been attributes shared that are worth repeating. She was sweet, caring, thoughtful, kind, gentle and genuine. She was very affectionate and treasured her loved ones. She had incredible grace and a Godly heart. She was brave, fun-loving and adventurous. She loved to be outdoors, camping, fishing, swimming and traveling. She loved nature and all its creatures great and small. She looked forward to Mother’s Day so that she could go shopping for flowers with her son and daughter to find just the right colors to fill up her pots. Even that she turned into an art form. She was very creative and artistic. Down through the years, she made a lot of different arts and crafts. Her favorite was making and selling unique and beautiful jewelry. She made many gifts for her family but if she bought gifts, they were something you told her you liked or wanted. She would also buy gifts to motivate creativity with either arts and crafts or musically. She loved going to flea markets and collecting vintage and antique items and was very knowledgeable on the subject. She was knowledgeable on most subjects actually so much so that her husband called her, lovingly, a walking dictionary!) This was before we had Google!) Her son remembers her having the loudest whistle in the East Bluff. This was how she let him know it was time to come home. His friends were very impressed!) Her daughter remembers she would show up for anything and rarely said no to anything anyone asked her to do. She was a great cook that would not only bring dishes to every get-together but she also made entire meals for everyone on St. Patrick’s Day and New Year’s Day for good luck. She loved playing games from board and card games to Bunco. She would try her hand at any sport or activity and was always good at all of them. Playing pool, horseshoes, bowling, volleyball, and softball. She was a tomboy at heart and sometimes competed with the boys, often beating them! She could do anything and do it well. She was very open-minded and had a love for learning. She loved reading all genres of books and had her own library. She watched movies in all categories and enjoyed all music. She loved going to concerts and plays. Everyone said she was fun and always so much fun to be around. She herself was very humble and had a quiet grace about her. She did not judge and was very forgiving. She would never push her opinions on anyone and only gave them when asked directly. She was a friend to anyone and a best friend to many. Her husband and children were so lucky to have her as a best friend! Most of all she loved her grandma, mother, her sister, her best friends, her husband, her children and her grandchildren. Her heart overflowed with love for them that will never end. They meant the world to her and she will always mean everything to them.
