Obituary for Karen A. Hahn

Peoria- Karen A. Hahn, 81, of Peoria, passed away at 10:43 pm at Heritage Manor in Normal, IL on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Born April 2, 1940 in Iowa City, IA. She was raised by her adoptive parents, Elwood F. Luedtke and Alethea E. (Mullen) Luedtke and later step-mother, Edith (Hoeflin) Luedtke. Her parents preceded her in death.

Karen married Robert D. Hahn on June 6, 1959 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are five children; Gregory (Gail) Hahn of Mackinaw, IL, Kevin Hahn of Pekin, IL, Brian Hahn of Morton, IL, Leanne (Michael) Rivan of Peoria, IL and David (Angela) Hahn, of Vance, AL, eleven grandchildren; Nicholas, Chelsea, Rebecca, Meaghan, Ashley, Ethan, Marie, Levi, Huntr, Breanna and DJ, seven great-grandchildren; Charlotte, Elena, Rylee, Rylee, Parker, Rowan and Ivyonna, seven step grandchildren; Nikki, Daniel, Jessica, Tonia, Amber, Ashley and Bryce, fourteen great step grandchildren; Isaiah, Eve, Leah, Able, Ella, Faith, Kaiden, Jonelle, Finnley, Kellan, Ace, Emmett, Shelby and Miles, and one great great step grandchild, Greyson, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

Karen and Robert were life time Peoria residents and long time members of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. After retirement they traveled extensively around North America. She enjoyed fishing, camping and summer trips with her children. She was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, who will be dearly missed.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Thursday, September 16, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior at the church. Rev. Stephen Willard will officiate and Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial’s in Karen’s name, may be made to The Children’s Home Association of Illinois, 2130 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria, IL 61603.
