Obituary for Judith T. Campbell
Judith Therese Hagemann Campbell, 82, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022.
Judy was born on July 9, 1940 to William and Rosella Hagemann in Peoria. Raised as a devout Catholic, Judy graduated from St. Thomas Grade Schoool and Academy of Our Lady High School, which led her to be involved in her church and community. Judy was a member of both the St. Vincent de Paul and St. Thomas Choirs, a president of the Catholic Womens’ League, and a volunteer at Methodist Hospital. As a young woman, she played the accordion competitively and won several awards. On Novemebr 12, 1964, Judy married Alan Campbell at St. Thomas Catholic Church. They spent 53 wonderful years together before Alan’s death in 2017. Judy and Alan shared many travels and adventures. The highlight of her travels occurred when she shook hands with St. Pope John Paul II in Vatican Square on her trip to Rome. Judy was a dedicated and loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend, who adored taking her grandchildren on shopping trips and buying them presents. Her kindness, generosity and strong faith made her an amazing person to know and love. She is survived by her three children, Angela Campbell Steinle, Matt Campbell and Lise Campbell, seven grandchildren, Julia, Caroline, Nick, and Tessa Steinle, Calvin Campbell, Jacob Sanders, and Abigail Halberg, and two siblings, Jim (Pat) Hagemann and Claire Hagemann (Dcd, Gene) Cooper.
