Obituary for Judith A. Bruns-Johnson

Judith A. Bruns-Johnson 71 of Peoria passed away 11:02 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Born November 7, 1938 in Peoria to George and Hilda Klues Harris. She married James Johnson on December 27, 1984 in Peoria. He survives. Also surviving are her children; Michele Bruns of Peoria, Dr. Michael (Cheryl) Bruns of Peoria, Merilee (Michael) Wunder of Chillicothe, Julia Bruns of Highland, Indiana and Joseph Bruns of Peoria; six grandchildren; Ryan, Nicole and Alexandria Bruns, Lyndsey Nimrick and Jessica Wunder, and Bailey Bruns. Two sisters; Joan (James) Schaumburg and Kathy (Phil) Clary. Two brothers; G. Michael (Jan) Harris and Stan (Leslie) Harris and numerous nieces and nephews. Judith was a graduate of the Academy of Our Lady High School and St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria. She was retired from OSF St. Francis Medical Center Home Health. Judy had an interest in theatre and volunteered for many years at Peoria Players and Cornstock Theatre in her younger years. In the later years, Judith enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and her two pet dogs; Queenie and Boots. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Rev. Glenn Harris officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church on Wednesday. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private burial of ashes will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
