Obituary for Jose Hernani M. Rosalem
Jose Hernani M. Rosalem, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL.
Jose was born on July 28, 1959 in Bais City, Philippines, a son of Paciencio and Julia (Merida) Rosalem. He married Maria Ruby Merced on July 16, 1994 in Dumaguete City, Phillipines. She survives. Also surviving are two children, Almina Jhule Rosalem and Hernan Rosalem, both of Dunlap, IL, as well as one brother, Paciencio Rosalem, Jr of Davao City, Philippines and two sisters, Beverly Rosalem Renacia of Minnesota and Vivian Rosalem Tagapulot of Cagayan City, Philippines. Jose’s parents and one sister, Evelyn Rosalem Japin preceded him in death.
Jose was a General Surgeon in the Philippines and was an Information Technology Senior Analyst at UnityPoint Health-Peoria. He was a long-time faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, IL. He was an active member of the That Man is You Club and the Knights of Rizal, IL Chapter. Jose believed God, Family and Country were the most important things in life and lived his life accordingly. Jose loved many and was loved by many.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 22, 2022 at St. Thomas Church. Msgr. Jason Gray will officiate.
Luncheon will follow the burial at St. Thomas Parish Hall.
Family wishes to thank Northwestern Heart Transplant Team and especially the heart donor and their family for their loving gift to Jose.
