Obituary for John S Miller
John S. Miller Jr., 61, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:32 am at Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Born December 5, 1960 in Peoria to John S. and Betty Jane Hardin Miller Sr., he married Joan Bull November 9, 1985 in Peoria.
She survives along with one daughter, Jessica M. Miller of Smithfield, VA.; one son, John S. (Renae) Miller III of Dunlap; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
John worked as a welder for a shipyard in Portsmouth, VA.
While in Peoria, he worked as a mechanic for various companies.
He loved working on Camaro's and Firebirds, and was currently working on a 1978 Camaro.
John was an avid HotWheel collector, and loved the Chicago Bears and the band KISS.
He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, and proudly served in the U.S. Army.
A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, 10 am at Resurrection Mausoleum Chapel, with Fr. Stephen Willard officiating.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p. at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, and half hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
