Obituary for JoAnn C. Seneca
Peoria- JoAnn C. Seneca, age 70, of Peoria passed away at 8:55 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home surrounded by her family.
Born April 24, 1945, in Chicago, Ill., she was a daughter to the late Joseph and Wava Moran-Ferraro.
JoAnn obtained her associates degree and worked as a traveling occupational therapist. She also worked as a secretary at St. Mark Catholic School and was known as a mother to her sons’ friends.
JoAnn loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, and was an avid and wonderful baker and cook. She will be remembered as a sweet mom who sacrificed for her children and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her two sons, Tony Seneca of St. Louis, Mo., and Phil (Christine) Seneca of Morton; four grandchildren, Liam, Claire, Thomas, and Kate; one brother, William Ferraro of Wisconsin; and one daughter-in-law, Stefanie Seneca of Peoria.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Michael Seneca.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial Mass at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Fr. David Richardson will officiate and a private burial will take place at a later date.
