Obituary for Jeffrey P. Auer
PEORIA – Jeffrey P. Auer, 41, of Peoria passed away at 3:45 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Jeffrey was born on May 9, 1975, in Peoria to Steven and Susan (Droege) Auer.
He is survived by his parents of Peoria; grandparents, Charles and Mary Auer of Peoria; two sisters, Jessica (Stephen) Craig of Morton and Justine (Ryan) Fogerty of Peoria; and four nieces and nephews, Lucy, Hadley, Winnie, and Liam.
Jeffrey worked in the warehouse for R.J. Distributing.
Jeff had a gruff exterior with a heart of gold. He loved his family and friends so much and would have done anything for them. He had a soft spot for animals and a passion for sports, especially the Bears. Jeff lived his life the way he wanted, which so many of us are afraid to do. We are relieved he is not in pain anymore but we will miss him dearly.
The family and Jeff were so grateful for the care he received from home health nurses and especially the oncology nurses at OSF. Your compassion and skill made dealing with this terrible disease better. We can never express our gratitude.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery and a graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Father David Richardson will officiate.
Memorials may be made to TAPS or Nuge Tyra Memorial Foundation.
