Obituary for Janice Meyer
Janice S. Meyer, 97, passed away peacefully at Unity Point Medical Facility in Peoria on Friday, August 19, 2022.
She was born on March 6, 1925 to Wieting and Ethel (Blair) Becker of Peoria, Il. Jan graduated from Woodruff High School and attended Bradley University. She worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company during WWII and then became a loving housewife and mother.
She was married to G. Edward Meyer for 64 years. He preceded her in death as did one daughter Mary Ann Meyer, a grandson Drew Meyer and daughter-in law Lori Meyer.
Jan is survived by Dan (Mary) Meyer, Suzanne (Carroll) Campbell, John (Dawn) Meyer, Matt Meyer, seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Jan loved her family, was an avid reader and artist, loved animals and liked to entertain and travel. She was a member of St. Jude Church. She was a diehard Cub fan, “Thank God for 2016!”
Jan kept Carlo Rossi in business for many years.
The family will have a private service Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
