Obituary for Janet J. Keithley

PEORIA-Janet J. Keithley, 90, of Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria, passed away there at 4:59 a.m. on Friday, December 3, 2010. She was born on August 5, 1920, in Peoria, to Homer S. and Honor Murphy Jacquin. She married Giles E. Keithley, Jr. on December 29, 1943, in Washington D.C. He passed away on April 22, 1976, in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one son, Giles, III, one grandchild, Joanna Dullard and one brother, Tom Jacquin. Janet is survived by one son, Raymond A. Keithley of Peoria; two daughters, Elizabeth Anne Keithley of Peoria and Carol K. (John) Dullard of Buffalo Grove, IL; three grandchildren, Erica Dullard, Kathryn Dullard and Alex Dullard; two great-grandchildren, Callin Bauer and Angelina Bauer; one sister, Mary Louise Jacquin of Peoria and one sister-in-law, Pixie Jacquin. She was a graduate of the University of Missouri. She worked at Jacquin & Co, where she served as secretary of the Corporation. Janet was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, Peoria High School Alumni Association, St. Mark’s Women’s Club, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, Catholic Women’s League and Cursillo. She was a volunteer at the Junior League of Peoria, Girl Scouts, March of Dimes and American Cancer Society. Janet enjoyed countless hours of playing bridge with her many friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2010, at St. Thomas Church with Msgr. William Watson officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary with a Scripture Service at 6:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the Mass at the church. She donated her body to medical science for scientific study. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Springdale Cemetery.
