Obituary for Jane P. Taylor

PEORIA - Jane P. Taylor, 86, of Peoria passed away at 8:50 p.m., Friday May 3, 2013, at Liberty Village Manor Court in Peoria. Jane was born on December 5, 1926, in Jacksonville, IL, to William and Sarah Frances Wallbaum. She married Rollin “Rod” E. Taylor on September 27, 1948, at Church of Our Savior Catholic Church in Jacksonville, IL. He passed away February 1, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Dick Wallbaum of Creve Coeur and John “Jack” Wallbaum of Murrayville, IL. She is survived by two children, Karen (John) Burgan of Sugarland, Texas and William (Eileen) Taylor of Peoria; five grandchildren, Jackie (Matt) Reed of Urbandale, IA, Leia (Andrew) Bradley of Mt. Prospect, IL, Nate Taylor of Peoria, Shane (Amy Mace) Burgan of Denver, CO, and Jessica Burgan of Sugarland, TX; and three great-grandchildren, William Reed, Madilynne Reed and Adler Bradley. Jane graduated from Routt High School in 1944 and attended business school. She worked in the planning department at Hiram Walker, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria and Peoria Emblem Club 121. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed her friends in the Peoria Emblem Club and Morning Glories golf leagues. She was a devoted grandmother who loved attending all her grandchildren’s games, concerts, performances and graduations. Her family was the center of her life. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2013, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. An additional visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in Calvary Cemetery in Jacksonville, IL. Memorials may be made to Central Illinois Riding Therapy or Holy Family Church.
