Obituary for James S. St. Germain
James S. St. Germain, age 87, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Farmington Manor.
Jim was born on July 11, 1935 in Laurium, Michigan, a son of George J. and Florence (Stecker) St. Germain. He married Sharon F. Reifsteck on June 24, 1967 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She survives. Also surviving are two nephews, Matthew (Megan) Reifsteck of Indianapolis and Nathan Reifsteck of Chicago, brother-in-law, John (Nancy) Reifsteck of Champaign, two sisters-in-law, Marsha Reifsteck of Savoy, IL and Patsy Reifsteck of Urbana, IL and one great-nephew, George Reifsteck of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert St. Germain.
Jim was an Army National Guard Reservist. He graduated from Spalding Institute and received his Bachelor’s degree in Business at Bradley University. He retired from Methodist Hospital after working many years. He was an altar server for daily mass for many years and was a Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peoria. He was also a hospice volunteer.
A Funeral Mass will be on February 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with a one hour prior visitation. Fr. Stephen Willard will officiate and burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in West Peoria, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riley Children’s Foundation, 500 W. Meridian St. Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46204 or St. Vincent de Paul Church.
