Obituaries
PEORIA – James H. “Jim” Stone, 69, of Peoria passed away at 5:06 a.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born on November 29, 1942 in Peoria to Howard L. and Beatrice M. (Howat) Stone. He married Nancy Schooley on January 9, 1965 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his children Kathy (Mark) Kwiat of Gilbert, AZ, Amanda (Jeffrey) Novotny of Wesley Chapel, FL, Jennifer (Bruce) Kielgas of Shanghai, China, Matt (Jennifer) Stone of Washington, IL; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Susanne Chester, and his brother T. Michael Stone.
Jim was a member of the Mid Illinois Corvette Club and El Vista Gang.
He was the past owner of Stone’s Lincoln Cleaners and a former president of the Illinois Drycleaning Association. He was also a founding member of the Rotary Club North and a former 3rd Degree member of the Spalding Council #427 Knights of Columbus order of Alhambra.
Jim was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church where a funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10 a.m. Father David Richardson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Wright Salmon Mortuary and 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
