Obituary for James F. Hagan

James F. Hagan 88 of Peoria died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday December 14, 2008 at OSF St. Francis Hospital. Born May 7, 1920 in Jacksonville, IL to Dallas and Wilfred Guthrie Hagan. He married Lucille C. Weiss on November 8, 1953 in St. Louis, MO. She survives. Also surviving is one son Timothy J. Hagan of Peoria Heights. Two grandsons Ian and Evan Hagan. One Brother Dallas Hagan preceded him in death. He was a World War II and Korean Navy Veteran. He survived the sinking of the USS Cushing in 1942 and also served on the USS Cyngus and USS George. James was injured in the line of duty spending over 2 months in a Naval Hospital. He was a machinist for Letourneau / WABCO. He was a member of the Order of DeMoley, a former boy scout and a member of the Peoria V8 Ford Classic Car Club. Graveside services will be Thursday 2:00 p.m. at Springdale Cemetery with military honors. Rev. Stephen Barch officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Memorials to the Salvation Army. Tributes and condolences may be submitted to www.wrightandsalmon.com.
