Obituary for Jack L. Kocher

PEORIA - Jack L. Kocher, 78, of Peoria passed away at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at his home.
Jack was born on Feb. 28, 1937, in Peoria to the late Leroy and Philomena Minnie (Weiler) Kocher. He married Margaret D. Peggy Brophy on Aug. 8, 1959.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; his children, Mary (Randy) Couri of Peoria, Karen (Mike) Lehman of Naperville, Ill., Colleen (Ron) Kuethe of Clive, Iowa, John (Dawn) Kocher of Peoria, Robert (Michele) Kocher of Huntersville, N.C., and Michael Kocher of Peoria; grandchildren, Maggie and John Couri, Megan and Jared Lehman, Aaron and Kayla Kuethe, Ryan, Katelyn, and Rachel Kocher, and Michaela, Sarah, and Dillon Kocher. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth (Gail) Kocher of Bartonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Ann (Kocher) Johnson.
Jack graduated from Spalding Institute and Brown Business College. He served as a public accountant for 47 years, retiring from Ginoli Company, LTD. in 2005.
His faith was a central focus of his life. He had a strong work ethic, valued education, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities.
Jack was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church for 56 years.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. Father Thomas Hensler, Father Thomas Taylor, and Monsignor William Watson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at Wright Salmon Mortuary,with recitation of the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. An additional visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the St. Thomas Food Bank or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
