Obituary for Imogene Y. "Jean" Harmon
Imogene Y. “Jean” Harmon, age 99, of Bloomington, formerly of Pekin, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Heritage Healthcare in Normal, IL.
Jean was born on August 20, 1923 in Tremont, IL, a daughter of Oscar and Ida (Burger) Yentes. Jean married Duane E. Harmon, on June 30, 1956 in Peoria. He preceded her in death April 29, 2005 in Morton, IL.
Jean proudly served in the US Navy Waves as Chief Yeoman during WWII. She worked as an executive secretary at Chris Hoerr and Sons Grocery and later at the American Distilling Company in Pekin, IL. Jean was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
A private entombment will take place at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, Memphis, TN.
