Obituary for Helen M. Domenighini

PEORIA-Helen M. Domenighini, 87, a life long resident of Peoria, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2008 at Independence Village. She was born on October 17, 1920 in Peoria to Harry J. and Mamee Johnson Unes. She married John F. Domenighini on November 28, 1943 in Peoria. He passed away on April 1, 1985 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald Unes. She is survived by one son, Randy (Julie) Domenighini of Metamora; one daughter, Becky Ann Domenighini of Lincoln, IL; three grandsons, Michael of Sycamore, Nathan of Morton and Ian and his fiancée, Megan of Peoria; one granddaughter, Allie Vaughn of Metamora; her brothers and sisters, Harriet (Fred) Bostany of Birmingham, AL, Lorraine (George) Shadid of Peoria, Lawrence (Patricia) Unes of Chicago, Leonard (Eileen) Unes of Peoria, Norma (Maurice) Joseph of East Peoria, Kenneth (Carol) Unes of East Peoria and David (Marie) Unes of Peoria; and sister-in-law, Sue Unes of Chillicothe. Helen was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, Itoo Ladies Club, Catholic Women’s League and Top of The Morning Bowling League. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2008 at St. Thomas Church with Msgr. William Watson officiating. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Itoo Society Scholarship Fund, Easter Seals or St. Thomas Catholic Church.
