Obituary for Harriet LuAnn Ottenweller
GENESEO– Harriet LuAnn Ottenweller, age 89, of Geneseo, IL., formerly of Peoria, passed away at 4:08 AM, Monday, February 13, 2017 at Hope Creek Nursing Home in East Moline, IL.
Harriet was born on May 15, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to the late Clarence and Corrine (Shondell) Brase. She married Maurice Franklin Ottenweller on September 3, 1949, in Fort Wayne. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2013.
She was also preceded in death by nine brothers.
Harriet is survived by their six children, Bill (Judy) Ottenweller of San Carlos, Calif., Mary Anne (Wes) Carius of Geneseo, Ill., Kathleen Wilkowski of Eugene, Ore., Tom Ottenweller of Madison, Wisc., Christine (Pat) Munoz of Round Rock, Tex., and Theresa Maisel of Sarsota, Fla.; and seven grandchildren, Tom Wilkowski of Eugene, Ore., Henry Carius of Geneseo, Ill., Margaret Wilkowski of Eugene, Ore., Glenda Carius of Sarasota, Fla., Christopher Munoz of Austin, Tex., Katie Maisel of Sarasota, Fla., and Conner Maisel of Sarasota, Fla.
Harriet was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was a former president of their Martha Club and Women’s Guild. She was also a Cub Scout troop leader.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM, Friday, February 17, 2017 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with a half hour prior visitation. Msgr. Jason Gray will officiate. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
