Obituary for Harold F. Schlicksup

PEORIA-Harold F. Schlicksup, 87 of Buehler Memorial Home, died there at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2006. Born on August 11, 1919 in Peoria to Harold F. Sr. and Gertrude Degnen Schlicksup. He married Rosemary Sutter on May 27, 1944 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are seven daughters, Carol Schlicksup of Memphis, TN, Margaret (Robert) Slowinski of Crystal Lake, IL, Marybeth (Howard) Denenberg of Glenview, IL, Madelyn (Michael) Paulson of Garden Prairie, IL, Laura (Terry) Brennan of Downers Grove, IL , Ann (Vic) Berardi of Gurnee, IL and Jean (Les) Lipinski of Brookfield, WI; 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; one brother, John F. (Barbara) Schlicksup of Peoria and one sister, Rosemary (Bob) Bayless of Morton, IL. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He graduated with a B.S. from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1943. A Registered Pharmacist, he was owner of Schlicksup Drug Co., Scrip Inc. and Ace Medical, retiring in 1984. He was a World War II Air Force veteran and flew B-29’s over Japan. He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church and it’s Men’s Club. He also was a member of the IL Pharmaceutical Association, Cursillo and a volunteer at OSF St. Francis Medical Center and the Food Share Program at Holy Family Parish. A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at St. Philomena Church with Rev . Donald Henderson officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Additional visitation will 30 minutes before the mass at church. He donated his body to medical science for scientific study.
