Glen A. Heuermann Sr., 73, of Carrollton, TX, passed away on July 4, 2012 at his residence after a short but brave battle with cancer. He was born February 13, 1939 in Peoria and raised by his grandparents Schweer and Anna Heuermann. He married Barbara Washburn May 5, 1962 in Peoria. One son, Glen Jr. was born of that marriage. Living on to celebrate Glen’s life are his son Glen “Pete” Heuermann Jr. of Hanna City and Cyndi (David) Stewart of Bartonville and their three children, Jessica (Randy) Eimerman of Peoria, Jacob and Lane Stewart of Bartonville. Also surviving is his Blue Heeler, Patches, a beloved companion for 14 years, who faithfully accompanied her loving master everywhere. Before moving to the Dallas, TX area, Glen was a contractor in the Peoria area for over 25 years. From 1960 to the early 1970’s he, along with his business partner and lifetime friend Dave Durham, owned and operated the Double H Riding Stables and developed Country Hills Subdivision in rural Peoria County. He continued as a contractor in the Dallas area. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling around the world, taking photos of his many adventures, and never met a stranger. His best times where spent on his Harley, riding with the wind in his face and the sun on his back, enjoying the journey of life. Glen served his country in the United States Air Force being honorably discharged. An informal gathering of friends and family will be held at Wildlife Prairie State Park in Hanna City, Illinois, beginning at 4:00pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Tributes and condolences may be submitted to www.wrightandsalmon.com.
