Obituary for Gladys Clara Stahl Urbanc
PEORIA HEIGHTS-Gladys Clara Stahl Urbanc, 91, of OSF Saint Clare Home in Peoria Heights, passed away there at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2008. She was born on March 23, 1916 in Peoria to Samuel and Elizabeth Schaiper Stahl. She married Joseph W. Urbanc on May 19, 1934 in Peoria. He passed away on October 24, 1981 in East Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Carol Mackoway, an infant son, Martin and one sister, Pearl Stahl. She is survived by her children, Joanne (Jim) Donahue, David (Sherry) Urbanc, Joseph (Ruth) Urbanc all of Peoria, Margaretta (Bill) Hildebrand of Indianapolis, IN; her son-in-law, Jack Mackoway of East Peoria; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Gladys was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Peoria and a former member of Catholic Women’s League, South Side Office of Concern, Cursillo and Beginning Experience. A Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Monday at St. Ann Church with Rev. Terry Cassidy officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary with a Scripture Service at 3:40 p.m. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the mass at the church.
