Obituary for Gertrude E. "Trudy" Stimpert
East Peoria - Gertrude E. “Trudy” Stimpert, age 72, passed away 9:50 AM, Monday, February 6, 2017 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL.
Trudy was born November 10, 1944, in Peoria, IL., a daughter of John J. and Mary Jo (Arnold) Faginkrantz. She married Nelson Stimpert, December 28, 1963 in Peoria, IL, and they recently celebrated their 53rd anniversary. He survives, along with Trudy’s mother, Mary Jo Cooksey of Peoria, one daughter; Melissa (Gregg) Cavanaugh of Washington, IL, two siblings; John (LouAnn) Faginkrantz of Hot Springs, AR, and Linda Stone of Marshalltown, IA, and two grandchildren; Alec and Sydney.
Trudy graduated college with a R.N. degree and worked as a R.N. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for many years. She was co-owner and operator of Call-A-Tool in Peoria, for 38 years. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be truly missed.
Trudy was preceded in death by her father, one daughter, Diana Stimpert, one brother, Mark Faginkrantz and step-dad, Sam Cooksey.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Visitation will start at 9:45 AM until 11:00 AM, also at the church. Father James Pankiewicz will officiate. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
