Obituary for George E. Tracy
Peoria- George E. Tracy, age 88, passed away 10:04 PM, Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Manor Court of Peoria.
George was born September 26, 1928 in West Peoria, a son of John Phillip and Louise Augusta (McDonald) Tracy. He married Mary Jean (Pryor) Tracy, November 16, 1957 in Ladd, IL. She passed away on November 24, 2015. Also preceding George in death were his parents and sister, LaVon Eytcheson and two brothers; John P. Tracy, and Ray Tracy.
George is survived by his son, Gregory A. (Bonnie) Tracy of Bartonville and one sister, Mary McVey of Benson, IL., and three grandchildren; Sean, Mary Kate and Blaine.
George proudly served in the US Army in the Korean conflict. He worked at Caterpillar as an office service supervisor until his retirement.
George was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church with Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Fr. Daniel Gifford will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mark’s Catholic Grade School.
