Obituary for Genevieve M. McMorrow

Peoria- Genevieve M. McMorrow 85, formerly of 729 W. Stratford Drive died at 4:22 pm Monday November 20, 2006 at Lutheran Hillside Village in the presence of many friends. Born May 5, 1921 in Rend City, IL to Louis and Martha Petelcyk Glash. She married Dr. Thomas McMorrow on March 29, 1942 in Ohio, IL. He passed away on June 20, 2005 in Peoria. Also preceding her in death was one brother Norbert and one sister Virginia. Surviving are Three sons; Thomas (and Annette) McMorrow of East Peoria, Martin (and Debbie) McMorrow of Cobden, IL., and Chris McMorrow of Plantation, FL., Four daughters; Teresa (and Ed) Cutt of Carmen, IL., Lynn (and Dave) Dibble of Oconomowoc, WI,. Michele (and Robert) St.Marie of West Linn, OR., and Mary Jennifer (and Dale) Schisler of Abington, IL. Nineteen grandchildren and Eleven great-grandchildren. She was a nurse and homemaker. Family and friends will remember her as graceful, beautiful, talented, strong in the face of challenge, nurturing, and devoted to her family. She was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church. She was former member of: Peoria Medical Society Alliance, Catholic Women’s League, St. Francis Auxiliary, Cosmopolitan Club, Catfish Club, The Cotillion Club, Sleepy Eye Pottery Club, Peoria Country Club and Mt. Hawley Country Club. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Saturday November 25, 2006 at St. Philomena Church. Rev. Donald Henderson officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4pm until 6pm at Wright and Salmon Mortuary with recitation of the rosary at 5:45pm. Further visitation will be from 10:30 am until 11:00 am at her church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Children’s Home Association Of Illinois, 2130 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria, IL 61603.
