Obituary for Gary Robert Hunt
Peoria- Gary Robert Hunt, age 50, of Peoria, passed away at 8:10 AM on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born November 07, 1967 in Peoria, he was a son to Gary and Jackie (Dittus) Hunt. He honorably served in the United States Army during Dessert Storm. On March 17, 2005 he married the love of his life Michele Curry in Peoria. He worked as an Engineer Assistant at Par-A-Dice. Gary loved fishing, bowling, and was an avid cubs fan. He enjoyed playing practical jokes, traveling to Wisconsin with his wife, and was a hard worker. Never knowing a stranger Gary will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his parents Gary and Jackie of Marquette Height; his Wife Michele of Peoria; six children: Stephen (Amanda Simpson-Humes) Hunt of Peoria Heights, Michael (Luka) Curry of Peoria, Rachel Hunt of Crestview, FL, Heather (Michael) Thoman of Milton, FL, Riley Siegrist of Peoria, and Bentley Kinkade-Curry of Peoria; six grandchildren: Abrielle, Josalyn, Hayden, Averie, Elliot, Savanna, Curry; as well as two brothers: Kevin (Angie) Hunt of Chillicothe and Jeff Hunt of Pontiac.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 between the hours of 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM at St. Bernard Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church with an additional visitation being held one hour prior to mass. Msgr. Stanley Deptula will officiate and burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials in Gary’s memory may be made to Greater Peoria Honor Flight Program.
