Obituary for Ellen McKimmey Ryan
Washington- Ellen McKimmey Ryan, 92 of Washington, IL, formerly of Decatur, went to be with the Lord at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017, at Washington Christian Village.Â
Ellen was born February 27, 1925, in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of Truman and Anna James Lay. She was a graduate of Litchfield High School. Ellen married Lynn L. McKimmey on July 6, 1946 in Litchfield. He passed away on May 31, 1975. Ellen married Michael F. Ryan on July 9, 1999. He passed away on February 28, 2016.
Surviving are her children, Lynne Kollock (Tulsa, OK); Keith (Tina) McKimmey, Morton, IL; and Diane (Tim) Roth, Germantown Hills, IL. Grandchildren, Justin Kollock, Courtney Kollock (Kevin) DeLapp, Tyler (Amber) Kollock, Brooke McKimmey, Kyle McKimmey (Benji) Leman, T.J. McKimmey, Austin McKimmey and Cameron McKimmey, Travis (Mallary) Roth, Christian Roth and Chad Roth. Great-grandchildren Reagan, Ellie and Beckett DeLapp, Parks, Hudson and Rome Leman, Keeley and Camden Roth. Also surviving are her stepchildren; Michael (Caroline) Ryan, Douglas Ryan, Gregory (Judy) Ryan, Margie (Mike) Baublitz and Julee VanderSluis.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law; Dolores and Fred Butts and son-in-law, Jim Kollock.
Ellen was an active member at First Baptist Church in Decatur, IL for many years.Â
During her lifetime she was employed by Montgomery Ward, U.S. Auto Glass and Coldwell Banker Realty.
Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Decatur, IL. Reverend Ron French will officiate. A private burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield, IL will precede the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ellen’s name, may be made to First Baptist Church, 1320 Arbor Drive, Decatur, IL 62526.
