Obituary for Ellen M. Black
Peoria-Ellen Marie(Otte) Black, 46, of Peoria passed away at 4:04 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Aug. 11, 1962, in Seymour, Indiana, to Gerald and Florence Schroer Otte. She was Baptized in Sept. of 1962, Confirmed in Christ in 1976, graduated from Seymour High School in 1980, and ITT Business Institute in 1981. Ellen married Richard (Rick) Black on March 24, 1984 at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Borchers, Seymour, Indiana, and he passed away July 29, 2001 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her Father and one nephew. She is survived by her mother, Florence Otte of Seymour, In, three daughters, Anna(Ryan) Ragains, Kimberly Black, and Melody Black, and one granddaughter, Kamryn Ragains, all of Peoria. Also surviving are two brothers, Norman (Edie) Otte, Carvin(Julie) Otte, one sister, Leah Otte(Robert) Smith, one niece, six nephews, and one great-niece all of Seymour, Indiana. Ellen owned and operated her own Day Care in Peoria where she was known to all the kids as Grandma Ellen. Prior to that she worked at CDC. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb 18, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peoria, with Pastor Michael Borcherding officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wright and Salmon Mortuary, and one hour before services on Wednesday before the Service. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
