Peoria -Elizabeth Ruth Hoffman arrive in this world on December 30, 1967, and she departed on December 30, 2008. Her parents, Patricia Zipfel Schmidt and David Hoffman survive along with her step parents, Dr Robert Schmidt, and Barbara Hoffman. Elizabeth has left as her legacy five beautiful children: Aaron, Amanda, Quinn, Abigail, and Christopher-all at home. She so enjoyed sharing her life with her fiance, Jesse Nunez.She was preceded in death by her Grandparents. Elizabeth graduated from Peoria Heights High School in 1986. She attended Beloit College. She graduated from ICC with an Associates degree. Caring for her children quickly became her most important job, and she excelled at it. No matter what the challenges life and God gave her, her children were always her top priority. When it became possible for her to work outside the home, her mother became the awesome “nanny-granny” who helped make it all work. Elizabeth found her niche in helping other parents’ children as a teacher’s assistant. She last worked at Valeska Hinton on Dec. 19. Sharing herself with her children, her “kids” at school, and her family were her passion. A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, 10 a.m. at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with Father David Richardson and Rev. Stephen Lane officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary, and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Groveland Evangelical Mennonite Cemetery in Groveland.
