Eileen H. Mills, age 100, of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Buehler Home in Peoria, IL.
Eileen was born on December 24, 1922 in Carmen, IL, a daughter of the late Kyle J. and Cora I. (Leftwich) Hilten. She married Harold E. Mills on March 20, 1971 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1983. She is survived by one daughter, Christine S. Huffman of Peoria, one son, James W. (Valerie) Peterson of Hilton Head isaland, SC and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Harold L. and his wife Margaret Hilten and Thomas and his wife Mary Hilten, and sister Geneve H. and her husband Gail Edwards.
Eileen attended Media Academy High School and went on to the Peoria Institute of Business. She was a secretary for Mass Mutual Insurance Company and later was an Office Manager for New England Life Insurance. She was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bartonville, IL.
Graveside services will be at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville, IL. Reverend Stephen Barch will officiate.
